Breakfast at hotel.
Leave your hotel and head to the Kandy railway station to catch a train to Nanu Oya (seats on availability).
This will be a journey that will rattle you straight into the heart of the tea country where pure Ceylon Tea is being processed. Enjoy your surroundings as your train will journey through dense vegetation, narrow tunnels while cutting through mountains hissing its way to a picture-perfect serenity among the lush green mountains. Get off the train with a bag full of memories and head to your next stop, the cozy hotel in Nuwara Eliya for your overnight stay.
Nuwara Eliya
Often referred to as 'Little England', this genteel highland community does have a rose-tinted, vaguely British-country-village feel to it, with its colonial – era bungalows, hotels and pretty gardens. Nuwara Eliya meaning "city on the plain or "city of light" is a town in the central highlands of Sri Lanka. It is one of the major teas producing areas and the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka "Pidurutalagala" oversees this beautiful city.
Embarking on a journey to Tea Country without exploring the tea-making process would be a missed opportunity. To avoid this oversight, you will visit a tea factory to delve into the production of the world- renowned Ceylon tea.
Check into the hotel and relax.
In the evening, drive through Nuwara Eliya, the town known as ‘Little England’ and enjoy the typical British architecture in all corners. Visit Lake Gregory. Your very own guide would take the pleasure in making his special arrack cocktail for you near Gregory Park. This won't be a traditional cocktail setup with cocktail tables. It's all about offering a unique experience and the atmosphere near Gregory Park. The tour leader will bring a few mats to create a basic setup, where they will mix cocktails.
Return to the hotel.
