Early breakfast at the hotel.

Proceed to the Remote village Ginidamana in Nelumwewa where you will take part in cooking a meal in a village home (during the war between 1983 to 2009, this used to be a border village). You will have the opportunity to blend with a village prominent person’s family and prepare food jointly with the group. Whilst Sri Lankan cookery secrets, the tour leader will introduce the village family to the group. You can also listen to the scary stories of the villagers during the war. On this excursion you will feel the pulse of the people and life of Sri Lanka.

After the preparation of lunch, you will visit the village temple for almsgiving. There you will offer the special portion of your prepared lunch to monks. Thereafter, you will get back to the village home and have lunch with the local family.

After the program, visit Polonnaruwa archaeological site.

(Option to do the city tour by bicycles. Vehicle will move along with bicycles for those who are not keen on the cycle ride. However, at the site your guide will get everyone together for the explanation).

Polonnaruwa Archaeological Site

Polonnaruwa is the second largest city in this province and famous for its clean and beautiful environment, amazing ancient constructions and most importantly the huge lake ‘Parakrama Samudra’ built in 1200 The city has many untouched ancient archeological relic sites and remains one of the best planned

archaeological relic sites in the country. UNESCO has declared the ancient city as one of the World Heritage sites.

Upon completion, return to the hotel.
